    Crop Insurance News and Analysis – January 10, 2020 – County Crop Insurance Program Expansion

    On January 10, 2010, the Risk Management Agency issued Managers Bulletin MGR-20-001, that expended the number of counties where certain crops are insured for the 2020 crop year for spring cops.

    ANALYSIS – The bulletin contained an attachment that listed the expanded counties. That list is contained below.

    Cabbage – New Jersey (Atlantic County), New York (Cayuga, Yates Counties), Pennsylvania (Indiana County), West Virginia (Patrick County)

    Cotton – Oklahoma (Beaver County), Texas (Lipscomb County)

    Flax – Montana (Blaine, Chouteau, Dawson, Glacier, Hill, Liberty, Phillips, Pondera, Richland, Teton, Toole, Wibaux Counties)

    Fresh Mkt Tomatoes – North Carolina (Buncombe, Henderson Counties)

    Grain Sorghum – Iowa (Keokuk, Mahaska Counties), Minnesota (Pipestone, Stearns, Wright Counties), Wisconsin (Calumet County)

    Green Peas – Iowa (Boone, Hamilton, Hardin, Howard, Pocahontas Counties), Minnesota (Lac qui Parle County)

    Hybrid Corn Seed – Iowa (Mitchell County), Minnesota (Jackson, Nicollet, Pope, Rice Counties), Wisconsin (Dodge, Dunn, Jefferson, Juneau, Waushara Counties)

    Mustard – Idaho (Oneida County)

    Onions – Minnesota (Clay, Freeborn Counties), Wisconsin (Adams, Columbia, Green Lake, Jefferson, Marquette, Sauk, Walworth Counties)

    Peanuts – North Carolina (Craven, Lenoir Counties)

    Potatoes – Idaho (Oneida County), Pennsylvania (Northumberland County), West Virginia (Preston County), Wisconsin (Green Lake, Marinette, Oconto, Wood Counties)

    Soybeans – Pennsylvania (Bradford, McKean, Potter, Sullivan, Susquehanna Counties)

    Sweet Corn – Maryland (Cecil, Wicomico, Worcester Counties), New Jersey (Cumberland, Salem Counties)
